Consulting for printshops, investors, projects, museums Consulting for Museums We have experience in how digital imaging technology can revitalize your next museum exhibit. The newest 3D rapid prototypers, CO2 laser engravers, and UV-cured wide format printers are some of the emerging technologies to discuss. We also assist museums with help on digital photography (equipment, including studio and portable lighting). FLAAR is one of the only research institutes in the world that has 27 wide format printers in its testing facilities, and all four sizes of digital cameras: 48-megapixel large format (BetterLight), 80-megapixel Cruse, 22-megapixel medium format digital (PhaseOne P25+), 35mm digital SLR (Canon EOS 5D, Nikon D100, and Nikon D200), and point-and-shoot cameras too. Consulting for architects and interior designers Nicholas Hellmuth started his career at Harvard studying architecture. Most of the rest of the Hellmuth family are architects going back several generations. So if you are interested in learning how modern digital imaging technology can serve architects and interior designers, we are a valued resource. Consulting for printshops, photo labs, screen printing companies Most of our consulting is for printshops, of all sizes and kinds. We consult for start-ups as well as established companies, all over the world. Consulting for corporations We have consulted with Fortune 500 companies for years, usually helping them understand wide-format inkjet printer options, especially assisting companies with pros and cons of different UV-curable flatbed inkjet or UV roll-fed inkjet capabilities. Consultation is also available for franchise printshops, family-owned sign shops. FLAAR is also consultant for manufacturers, distributors, and printer resellers, especially for signage, giclee, décor, and increasingly for UV-cured printers. Consulting for Field Projects We can come to your field project and provide training, on-site, for how best to photograph what you need to digitize. Consulting for Photography (field and studio) FLAAR has professional camera equipment, and staff photographers, who are available to do either consulting about your photo equipment needs in the field, as well as in a studio. Dr Hellmuth was the consultant for 5 weeks, on-site, for the Malta Centre for Restoration, University of Malta, to assist them to better photograph their cultural heritage. Last year FLAAR assisted an NGO non-profit organization in a remote part of Guatemala, to help them with photography for their PowerPoint presentations so they could solicit grants for their villages. Consulting for Printers: Giclee, Fine Art Photography, Décor We do this worldwide, from Hawaii to Vancouver to Istanbul. We cover digitization of the paintings, printing workflow, and how to get started towards a realistic Business Plan. Consulting for Scanners and Scanning We have experience in and/or knowledge about most sizes and shapes of scanners except for document scanners (which we don’t cover). Consulting for Color Management ICC color profiles and a color managed workflow is best learned from hands-on training, which we can arrange for you. |
