FLAAR employs a number of different people from varing background and believes that this mix of different background and experience is what makes this company stay at the forefront as we monitor the development of the printing industry.

Dr. Nicholas Hellmuth is the founder, president and director of FLAAR. A Harvard graduate Dr. Hellmuth has spent a number of years researching both Mayan Archeology and now wide format printers and associated technologies. To view the resume for Dr. Hellmuth click here.

Brent Cavanaugh has spent the past four years as manager of the Large Format Digital Imaging Lab on the campus of Bowling Green State University . The lab works closely with FLAAR and Dr. Nicholas Hellmuth, testing and evaluating large format inkjet printers, high end digital cameras and scanners. He brings to the lab color management skills and real world production experience. Over the past 29 years Brent Cavanaugh has been involved with photography and digital imaging in many aspects. With B.S. and M.A. degrees in photography, he has worked as a commercial and portrait photographer in Texas.

Brent also continues with his photography in both digital and traditional methods. He currently teaches part time at BGSU, and has also taught at the Toledo Museum School of Art and Owens Community College.

Other staff members include co-operative education students.  Due to the ties with Bowling Green State University, FLAAR hires several co-operative education students each semester. Most of these students come from BGSU's Visual Communication Technology program and through FLAAR they are able to work and train with equipment FLAAR has obtained for research. They get real world experience while remaining close to the familiar surroundings of BGSU campus and FLAAR is given a fresh new staff of innovative and creative minds to educate in the ways of the business world.
